'Incredible' season leaves Magpies chief so proud

Chorley chairman Jamie Vermiglio has praised team bosses Andy Preece and Chris Anderson on “an incredible campaign”.

Having finished fifth in National League North, the Magpies reached the play-off semi-finals but bowed out to eventual winners Scunthorpe.

In an end-of-season statement on www.chorleyfc.com, Vermiglio wrote: "The consistency, performances and achievements of our first team squad again can’t be overstated.

"To be competing year after year in and around the top, against full-time outfits and clubs with significant resources, is something we are proud of and every supporter should be proud of.
