'I'm fed up of going to Blackpool'

At a recent meeting of the Preston Partnership - a business lobbying and membership group in the city - the city council's cabinet member for community wealth building and city regeneration councillor Valerie Wise outlined the major schemes happening in the city.

She included the Guild Hall's future within it and outlined having an event space in the city as the main regeneration priority for the city.

Coun Wise said: "I've been to an event in Blackpool recently and it does seem like whenever there is something in Lancashire it will be hosted there. I'm sick of that, even though it's a great place of course.
