From one fan's scarf to a community effort that wraps around Deepdale

A scarf the length of Deepdale has been knitted by hundreds of committed volunteers from across the community.

Participants, friends and family attended Preston North End's ground at Deepdale to celebrate the completion of the giant scarf project.

The project, supported by the National Football Museum and Preston North End Community and Education Trust, was inspired by a 1964 hand-embroidered scarf made by lifelong North End fan Denis Bradley.

Denis, who attended both the quarterand semi-finals of the 1964 FA Cup, followed North End passionately for decades. His dedication led his family to preserve the scarf and later donate it to Football Matters, where it became a cherished artefact.
