A portion of our time is happily spent volunteering in The Alnwick Garden (TAG) where there’s constant dialogue with visitors.

So, the opportunity to reverse the situation is something to enjoy when visiting other gardens.
Meeting a lady gardener at work, weeding a flower bed in the Tuileries, was a chance not to be missed.
She was holding a large specimen of what we call 'thorn apple' or 'jimson weed' in her gloved hand.
“Excuse me, that looks like Datura stramonium you are holding,” said I.
“Yes, very poisonous,” she replied.
