Two banged-up burglars from Preston who pleaded with a judge to sentence them straight away have been told they must wait until the New Year to hear their fate.

Cameron Parkinson and Callum Cowperthwaite will spend Christmas behind bars after their case was put off until January due to a delay in bringing an alleged co-accused to court.

The pair have already been in custody for more than six months despite pleading guilty to the joint offence of burglary.
