42 complaints have been made against Labour city councillors since 2018

Information obtained under the Freedom of Information Act shows 42 complaints have been made against Labour city councillors since 2018, the majority of which have been by members of the public.

The Lib Dems have received 10 in the same time, eight made by another city councillor, while the Conservatives have received three.

Through this time, Labour has been the ruling party at Preston City Council, with the Conservatives ceding the role as main opposition to the Lib Dems at the 2024 local elections.

Labour has, however, lost the Lea and Larches and Sharoe Green wards in recent votes.

Of all of those complaints, five were upheld by the Preston City Council Standards Committee and they were all between 2018-2020.
