Plans to outsource parking wardens at two Ayrshire councils must halt, say unions.

Unions are urging councils in Ayrshire to abandon proposals for private firms to take over parking enforcement, which will turn the services into the “wild west”, they said on Friday.

They have written to the Ayrshire Roads Alliance calling for any plans to outsource parking attendants in East Ayrshire and South Ayrshire councils to be halted. There is no suggestion North Ayrshire Council form part of the proposals.
