BUDGAM: The Citizens Foundation, in collaboration with HDFC Bank Parivartan, on Wednesday launched the MEHFIL (Mountain Entrepreneurship through Hospitality, Food, Inclusion and Livelihood) project in Budgam, marking a significant push toward strengthening rural livelihoods and sustainable development in the region.
The inauguration began with the traditional lighting of a diya, followed by the burning of isbandh in an isbandh soz, a customary practice believed to invoke blessings and protection. Guests were welcomed with traditional shawls and bouquets, adding a cultural warmth to the ceremony.
The event was attended by Block Development Officer Nagam, Tafheem Firdous Shah; Tehsildar Chadoora; and HDFC Bank Parivartan Cluster Head Shadab, among others.
