Give Kashmir a Future-Ready Classroom
Kashmir Observer

Letter to Editor
Every morning, children in Kashmir walk into classrooms with a heavy load on their backs. It is not just schoolbooks they carry. They carry the weight of an education system that has stopped moving with time.
The government now wants every school to follow only NCERT and JKBOSE books. The goal sounds good on paper. Everyone gets the same content and the same chance. The problem is that these books belong to a different world.
Open a Class 6 science book. The plant drawings feel like they were made on an old chalkboard. Algebra in Class 7 appears briefly, leaving students confused when the real problems show up. Social science lessons speak about landline phones as if they are the latest invention. The maps seem too outdated to navigate even the nearest street.
