BROADSTAIRS Cricket Club celebrated their first victory of the season in style, triumphing over Canterbury at home in a match that demonstrated both their batting depth and bowling prowess.
This win, against a team that played in the Premier Division the previous season, has set Broadstairs on a promising path in the Kent League Championship.
On a dry, spinner-friendly pitch, Broadstairs elected to bat first and set a modest target of 223. Although this score initially seemed a little under par at the halfway stage, it proved to be enough thanks to an excellent display of pace-off bowling.
