Fed-up Frank gets on the 'whine'

- BY STEVE JUDGE

FRANK LAMPARD fears he will be seen as a "whiny" manager after being mystified as to how George Hirst was still on the pitch to condemn Coventry to just a second defeat of the season.

The Tractor Boys striker was already on a yellow card when he took a 35th-minute shot after referee Paul Tierney had blown his whistle, with the game still goalless.

It was exactly the same scenario that had seen the Sky Blues' Josh Eccles booked just 10 minutes earlier and Lampard said: "I don't love yellows for kicking the ball away or having a shot, but clearly if Josh Eccles deserved one then Hirst deserves one.

"It's huge and it is difficult in my position because it can make you sound whiny, especially when you lose 3-0. The clear thing is how it happened with Josh and, when you don't let off our player and let off their player, there is a clear question to ask."
