VARDY'S FINAL PARTY

Fans lift the roof off the King Power as they say farewell to Leicester legend Jamie... who of course delighted them with one last goal

JAMIE VARDY was always going to turn up to his own party.

Leicester's greatest of all time made it 200 goals for the club on his 500th appearance with a trademark first-half strike.

It was the 13th anniversary of his £1million move from Fleetwood to the day.

Vardy, 38, is leaving the club at the end of the campaign and it was confirmed this would be his farewell appearance.

And it was a special King Power Stadium atmosphere from the off.

Fans welcomed the team with thousands of 'thank you Vards' flags before kick-off.

Numerous members of the 2015-16 Premier League winning team including Wes Morgan and Marc Albrighton were in attendance along with the man who signed him, Nigel Pearson.

Captain Vardy was accompanied by his three kids as mascots when leading the team out at the start.

Other than Vardy's pursuit of his personal milestone, this game had very little on it, between two relegated sides. But it was Ipswich who threatened to ruin the Vardy party early on.
