A PRISONER has been arrested on suspicion of the murders of a four-year-old boy and his grandaunt in Edenderry, Co Offaly.

The man, who is in his 20s, was arrested yesterday and is being held at a Garda station in the midlands.

It's understood gardai arrested the suspect in an Irish prison under a warrant. He is suspected of ordering the firebomb attack from behind bars.

Mary Holt, 60, and little Tadgh Farrell, 4, died when thugs firebombed a house on December 6.

Now the suspect is being detained on suspicion of orchestrating the murder which saw two young men carry out the attack at around 7pm.
