Irish event could inspire next generation of leaders

IT'S fair to say it's been a rocky period for Ireland's relationship with one of its oldest allies, the United States of America.

Trade wars and immigration crackdowns have upended transatlantic ties that we have depended on for decades.

So the Right Stuff is backing the next generation of leaders to try and repair things.

Many of them could well have been gathered this week in Maynooth University at Foroige's Leadership for Life youth conference.

Over 300 teenagers from Ireland and the US attended the week-long event to learn the skills they will need to be future leaders in their schools, communities and across society.

The gathering aims to empower teenagers to build confidence, develop crucial life skills, and connect with peers who are passionate about creating positive change in their communities and beyond.
