Mike vows texts to O'Gara will continue despite cup clash

THERE'S no text ban in place this week between Ronan O'Gara and Mike Prendergast, despite what is at stake in the Champions Cup.

The pair old friends - talk tactics all the time.

In fact, they conversed on Monday and will do so again later in the week as Munster head to O'Gara's La Rochelle with a place in the quarter-finals at stake.

"We'd always chat," shrugged Prendergast, Munster's senior coach. "We'll keep going"

Their rugby lives have entwined since they faced each other in a Munster Schools Cup final 30 years ago, when O'Gara's Pres team beat Prendergast's Crescent side.

"It was in Musgrave Park," recalled the Limerick man. "We lost 14-7. We missed nine or 11 kicks. We have a 1995 Schools WhatsApp group and the two boys who missed the kicks still get hammered. You would always remember it."
