WHILE there was relief that Ireland had avoided an absolute mauling in the Oval Office last week, US President Donald Trump saved his sucker punch to the nation for St Patrick's Day itself.

His invitation to the White House to the odious Conor McGregor was the dig to the gut that none of us needed.
