Putin fumes at FU burglars

VLADIMIR Putin has accused European leaders of "burglary" in an extraordinary tirade during his annual TV address.

The Russian President made the remark as he criticised European nations for utilising Russia's frozen assets to finance the Ukrainian military.

He stated: "It's burglary. The consequences are very serious for the burglars." The EU agreed a €90billion loan to fund Ukraine's defence last night.

Many European leaders wished to directly use Russian assets frozen in EU countries, worth around €200bn, to fund Ukraine.

However, legal concerns from Belgium, where most of the assets are held, sparked the bloc to agree on the loan instead.
