PEP FUMES OVER VAR DECISION

City boss Pep Guardiola was delighted to leave St James' Park with a commanding lead last night.But he was less than impressed with VAR's intervention in a second goal scored by Antoine Semenyo that was ruled out for an offside call against Erling Haaland.

Guardiola (above) fumed: “Four officials and VAR were not able to take the decision, they had to go to the referee.

“We know how it works and that will make us stronger. It's in that situation how we react.
