A BRAVE mother confronted Micheal Martin at Fianna Fail's think-in in Cork yesterday saying he had ignored her pleas to help her daughter Katie for 14 years.

Antoinette Burke, from Cobh, said she decided to show up at the Rochestown Park Hotel when she saw on social media that the Taoiseach would be there.

Katie, 18, has cerebral palsy, a dysplastic hip, a twisted femur and a retroverted pelvis.

The young woman's hip is deteriorating, and she falls after walking for a few metres.

Her mother fears that without surgery to fix her hip she will continue to be in pain and could end up back in a wheelchair.

BEGGING

The Cork mother is begging for the Government to intervene, as she says doctors refuse to do surgery that would keep her walking and out of pain.

Antoinette said: "She had Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy surgery when she was seven, which got her out of her wheelchair and up walking for the first time in her life.
