Kevin says Mayo in good hands under Rochford

KEVIN MCSTAY is to step back as Mayo manager for the “immediate future” due to health issues.

McStay was admitted to hospital on Saturday having felt unwell at team training in Castlebar and it has now emerged that he will not be in a position to lead them into Saturday’s All-Ireland SFC Group 1 tie with Tyrone in Omagh as Stephen Rochford takes over.

Mayo then play Donegal two weeks later in their final group game, though whether they'll be involved in the Championship beyond that remains to be seen with the team very much on the back foot after losing their group opener to Cavan.
