McKibbin earnings soar to €8m in a year after Rahm team triumph

TOM McKIBBIN will head to the K Club for next week's Amgen Irish Open on the back of a very lucrative first season with LIV Golf.

McKibbin joined Jon Rahm’s Legion XIII team in January in a surprise move after he had earned qualification to the PGA Tour at the end of last season.

The 24-year-old went against the advice of mentor Rory Mcllroy in doing so, but the rising Holywood GC star has been financially rewarded for his decision.

McKibbin banked €1.2m from the final event of the season as Legion claimed the LIV Golf team title in Michigan on the last weekend of the season, beating Bryson DeChambeauis Crushers GC in a playoff.
