Pilot: Deployment of emergency turbine suggests power failure

AIR India crash investigators were last night alerted to a “gamechanger" clue which suggests the plane crashed due to power failure.

Experts analysed new footage of the disaster which killed 270 people as well as the black boxes from the wreckage of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner.

One experienced pilot suggested the video shows evidence of Gatwickbound Flight A1171 suffering a catastrophic power failure during the critical moments after takeoff.

The jet plunged into a residential area of Ahmedabad on Thursday, killing all but one of the 242 people on board and 29 on the ground.

Pilot and respected crash investigator Steve Schreiber has pointed out a “tiny detail” but a “total gamechanger” on the new video.
