THE first traitor was finally unmasked in a dramatic showdown in RTE's hit new reality show.

- BY LARISSA NOLAN

Garda Eamon, who was one of the three picked to play the traitors on the show and murder the other 'faithful' contestants was banished from the game.

His fellow contestants suspected him and voted for him to leave during last night's 'round table'.

Earlier, Eamon, 36, and his fellow traitors Paudie and Katelyn had murdered another faithful rival for the €50,000 cash prize, John.

The 53 year-old Cork firefighter was a late arrival to the castle after being sensationally axed when the group had only arrived on day one of the game.

He later won a reprieve to regain entry to the game.

Last night's dramatic events came as the three traitors in the show turned on each other in a backstabbing bloodbath.

Viewers thought most suspicion would fall on the oldest of the three, Paudie, or on Katelyn.

Ousted faithful Linda had hoped she had cast doubt on the 32-year-old consultant from Galway.

But it was Tipperary garda Eamon who got rumbled instead.

As he was banished from the castle by host Siobhan McSweeney, Eamon said: "I came here to have fun, to play the game and to meet amazing people and I really, really enjoyed it."

But he then told his fellow contestants: "I was playing the game but I have to confess to you that I was lying all along. I'm not a courier, I'm going back to my life as a faithful member of An Garda Siochana cos I'm sick of being a traitor."

REVENGE

His admission sent howls of delight amongst the other contestants as they had finally managed to out a traitor.

A relieved member of the faithful, Nick, said: "It was a moment for John, it was a moment for Nina, it was a moment for Linda, for Diane. That was for you. We got one of them."

Fellow traitor Paudi also hailed his exit, telling the other traitor Kathlyn: "He was a double traitor in the game as he betrayed me."
