Hoops hero Petrov fears for old boss with impossible job

STILIYAN PETROV has always looked up to his old gaffer Martin O'Neill, but now he feels sorry for the Derry man.

O'Neill has stepped up in Celtic's hour of need twice this season but Petrov reckons it’s a thankless task.

The 73-year-old is trying to keep the campaign on the rails as manager, head of recruitment and club spokesman for the under-fire board.

Petrov said: “It’s great to se him back but I have kind of felt sorry for him. He’s a 73-year-old and he’s trying to save the club at a difficult time.
