GAY GAA STAR URGES OTHERS TO COME OUT

IRELAND'S only openly gay and still playing GAA footballer has urged other sports people to come out.

Kevin Penrose revealed he gets a lot of private messages from other players who are gay but have not gone public.

Kevin claimed that if they also come out, it could transform lads' culture in the GAA.

LGBT groups like ShoutOut and League of Ireland club Bohemians FC's Pride Committee praised Kevin's courage and told The Star it is "important for stories like Kevin's to be heard".
