Ice cream should go back to basics

Poet Charles Baudelaire's analysis of the nature of evil and challenges of acknowledging moral truths - I think I've quoted him correctly - are pertinent today.

Because today many of us may exercise our right, enshrined in the constitution, to have a 99 - something denied to us in the cold of winter and most other summers.

It's not possible to carry two bales of briquettes and a 99 at the same time. I know this because, Christ knows, I've tried.

And - as the Bible tells us in a letter from St Paul to the Romans, if I'm not mistaken - "when Christ knows you want an ice cream the devil lurks not far behind".
