Event at canal shrine to celebrate murdered teacher's life

THE family of murdered teacher Ashling Murphy said they start every new year following her death by remembering her.

The 23-year-old was murdered on the bank of the Grand Canal close to Tullamore in Co Offaly on January 12, 2022 while out for a run.

Jozef Puska was found guilty of her murder two years ago and is serving life in jail. He had pleaded not guilty.

The talented musician's family set up the Ashling Murphy Memorial Fund to raise money for causes she believed in - including traditional Irish art, music and heritage.
