Receiving the news on arrival at Galway on Monday of Edward O'Grady's overnight passing, it was up to him to open the Festival's TV coverage by speaking of him.

While, as Monday's racing continued, there was the emotional unfolding of the fourth race and Alan O'Sullivan, brother of jockey Michael who had been killed in a fall last February at Thurles, coming through to win in the big race's final furlong on Filey Bay.
