Amorim only wants players united and true

- BY DAVID MCDONNELL in Chicago

RUBEN AMORIM only wants players committed to Manchester United to help them recover from their worst-ever Premier League season.

Amorim left four players out of his US tour squad — Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho, Antony and Tyrell Malacia — after all expressed a desire to leave, while Marcus Rashford has joined Barcelona on loan.

Against that backdrop, Amorim said it is vital for him and his players including new signings Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo to create a bond ahead of such an important season, having finished last term in 15th place.

"I think in any team, if you see the best teams in the world, you feel the bond between all the players," said Amorim. "I think that is really important.

"Then I think we need to remind ourselves how special it is to be at Manchester United.

"That is my feeling.
