Five die in crashes across island

A WOMAN died after being hit by a bus in Galway city in 24 hours of road horrors across the island.

The collision happened at Wellpark on Monday evening at 8.45pm. The woman ~ who has been named locally as Marie Hession — was a pedestrian in her 80s and was pronounced dead at the scene.

‘A Garda spokesperson said: “Gardai are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision which occurred on the Dublin Road, Wellpark, Galway City yesterday.”
