Andrews looking like the Bees knees now

ROY Keane once famously described Keith Andrews as a "bulls***ter" and the vernacular of the modern football coach isn't everyone's cup of tea.

But it is becoming clearer by the week that Andrews' words are getting through to his Brentford players, as they have added Premier League champions Liverpool to their list of victims under the Dubliner.

After a dreadful start against Nottingham Forest, the Bees have beaten Aston Villa, Manchester United and West Ham, drawn with Chelsea, and lost by a single Erling Haaland goal to Manchester City.

And all the time, Andrews has been gaining admirers with his comments pre-and post-games, with his calm and reasoned analysis.

In his Dublin accent, which has been dimmed slightly thanks to his time in England as a player, the 45-year-old has uttered words we've heard more often from those speaking with a Spanish or French twang contention, If he is not careful, he will talk himself out of contention for the Irish job for many years to come with bigger club opportunities on the cards.

Of course, football management is so fickle that in a few weeks' time, we could be back at the 'bulls***ter' end of the spectrum.
