10 years after Hoops debut Keiran hopes to steer Celtic to knockouts

KIERAN TIERNEY is gearing up for another European adventure after a decade of being a driving force for Celtic and Arsenal.

The fans’ favourite is looking to put the foot down in Bologna’s Stadio Renato Dall’Ara tomorrow night and steer Celts to the Europa League knockout stages.

And it's another thrilling stop on a 10-year journey that has had Tierney hooked from the start.

The 28-year-old is renowned for being one of the most down-to-earth players in the business and revealed his experience of continental competition had typically humble beginnings.

Tierney was chucked in at the deep end under Ronny Delia in October 2015 after just a handful of top-team appearances and he's never forgotten it.

He said: “Fenerbahce... I can still remember driving home in my Ford Fiesta thinking, I've just played against Robin van Persie!'.
