AFTER the huge success of the first-ever regular-season NFL game to be hosted in Ireland at the weekend - where the Pittsburgh Steelers secured a thrilling 24-21 win over the Minnesota Vikings - Irish sports and travel enthusiasts are being invited to explore all that Pennsylvania has to offer in 2026.

The coming year marks the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States, providing a backdrop for Pennsylvania to shine as a hub of once-in-a-lifetime events.

Sporting fans can experience five exhilarating FIFA World Cup group-stage matches being hosted in Philadelphia throughout June.

Shortly before, Pittsburgh will be centre-stage for the 91st NFL Draft from April 23-25, a must-attend event for NFL followers and travellers eager to be part of the action.

The excitement continues through the spring and summer with the Philadelphia region playing host to the 108th PGA Championship from May 11-17, where golf's elite will vie for the coveted title.

Baseball lovers will also be drawn to the state for the MLB All-Star Game scheduled for July 14 in Philadelphia.

Alongside these headline sporting occasions, Pennsylvania will present an exciting series of cultural celebrations aligned with the US's 250th anniversary.
