PLANS for a new urban town on the capital's north-side have been revealed by Dublin City Council.

The non-statutory draft masterplan will focus on the regeneration of approximately 77 hectares of land at Dublin Industrial Estate and the surrounding Cabra and Glasnevin areas.

The plan refers to the area as Baile Bogain, or Ballyboggan, situated northwest of the city centre between Glasnevin, Cabra and Finglas, with the Royal Canal and Luas Green Line running through it and Broombridge providing key rail and transport connections.
