Coroner told boxing legend had brain disease

RICKY Hatton was drunk when he hanged himself and may not have intended to take own life, a coroner has ruled.

The two-weight world boxing champ - found dead by his manager hours before he was due to jet to Dubai for an exhibition bout - had the early stages of a boxer's brain disease that could have hampered his thinking.

His inquest in the UK heard the legend, 46, was a doting dad who had been looking forward to the future and was in good spirits - the best he had been “in years”.
