DROGHEDA UNITED ended a week to forget on a high as they beat Sligo Rovers at Sullivan and Lambe Park to move back into second place.
Douglas James-Taylor scored his second league goal of the season after just three minutes.
It was Drogheda's quickest goal of the season, beating George Cooper's opener against Shamrock Rovers on Monday by 24 seconds.
It remains to be seen whether the on-loan Walsall striker will remain at Drogheda beyond the end of his loan spell on June 30, but if this was his home swansong, he had the home faithful delirious.
