Everyone remembers their first love — and their first album. New drama Mix Tape brings those two things together with a love story starring Jim Sturgess and Teresa Palmer as lovers Daniel and Alison. Starting in 1989 this four-part series sees the pair fall in love, only to be ripped apart by circumstance.

“It’s that young, youthful, visceral, very powerful young love that you experience for the very first time,” explains Jim. “And it gets cut short when Alison, who's grown up in a slightly more difficult and broken family environment, has to leave Sheffield one day without any answers as to why that’s happened. So it leaves Daniel with a huge, kind of unresolved, hole in his heart and in his life.”
