CONOR COADY has twice been inside the circus that follows England at major tournaments - but nothing could prepare him for life at Wrexham.

- BY STEVE JUDGE

The ex-Three Lions centre-half even watched episodes of Welcome to Wrexham before leaving Leicester for £2m to be part of Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney’s Hollywood makeover of the Welsh club.

But the Euro 2020 and Qatar World Cup squad member has still been blown away by experiencing it in the flesh.

Last week Coady was shocked by the star power of £300,000 journeyman Ollie Palmer, who attracted Dutch fans during a friendly in Holland.

On Saturday, it was the intensity of the travelling support at Southampton for the club's first game back in the second tier of English football for 43 years that left him gobsmacked.

Coady said: "I've never seen an away end like that in a long, long time.

"That's my first experience of a Wrexham away end. The noise from the warm-up to minute 96-97, I think they're outstanding."
