Sean enjoys home comforts at Elland Road with goal and assist

- BY ISAAC JOHNSON

MOVING away from home is always hard.

But Sean Longstaff is finally finding his feet at Leeds after the first transfer of his career.

The midfielder, who spent nearly two decades at Newcastle, was the man of the match against Bournemouth, claiming his first goal and assist following his summer transfer.

After a period of adaptation, Longstaff has now “taken his chance”, according to manager Daniel Farke, by starting the last four matches.

His performance warranted a goal and his strike off the inside of the post put Leeds 2-1 up nine minutes after halftime, before Bournemouth’s stoppage-time equaliser from Eli Kroupi denied him the winner.

“Brilliant feeling to score my first goal at Elland Road in front of you all,” Longstaff wrote on social media.

He had not scored in the Premier League since May 2024.

Speaking to LUTV, he added: “It's a bit of relief to score. I hadn't scored in a little while, so I was over the moon.
