Skin expert to the stars’ top tips for perfect summer complexion

- SKIN EXPERT Eavanna Breen

SKIN expert EAVANNA BREEN is the professional that celebrities turn to for a perfect complexion.

She's the expert who helps Samantha Mumba, Glenda Gilson and Thalia Heffernan get their radiant glow. Eavanna says summertime should be better for skin, with fresh air and more daylight. But she says holiday heat can also play havoc.

Here, she gives her advice on how to look after your skin for the warmer months, whether home or abroad.

WE associate winter with skin disruption such as dryness, tightness, irritation, but summer can be just as tricky.

The combination of heat, UV exposure and lifestyle shifts can throw your skin off balance.

That golden glow we love comes at a cost. UV exposure is the number one external factor that breaks down collagen. It doesn't just give you a tan, it speeds up fine lines, triggers pigmentation, and worsens redness.

Then there's sweat, SPF, and city air, all sitting on your skin at once. It's a recipe for congestion. I often see clients come in after a few weeks of warm weather with little breakouts and irritation that seem to appear out of nowhere, but it's the buildup that is affecting the skin.

Bake up a storm this bank holiday

A long weekend calls for a little time spent in the kitchen, and what better excuse to get baking? This week, I've given four classic treats a twist - try a fragrant lemon drizzle with delicate camomile, rich date and walnut scones, and charming mini Victoria sponges that are perfect for sharing. And for something a little unexpected, fudgy brownies with a secret ingredient to keep them irresistibly soft – but will anyone guess what it is?
