LAZY GRIFF RULED OUT OF ST LEGER

LAZY GRIFF will miss the Betfred St Leger and the rest of the season after suffering a knee injury.

The colt, trained by Charlie Johnston (below), was as short as 100-30 second favourite for the final Classic at Doncaster next Saturday after following a second in the Derby at Epsom in June with a third in the Irish equivalent at the Curragh.

But the Middleham Park Racing-owned son of Protectionist will now undergo surgery before a planned return to action in 2025.
