The back to back Connacht champions are just 60 minutes from landing a first ever EirGrid All-Ireland U-20 title.

They will take on Kildare at Kingspan Breffni tomorrow and owe Walsh a debt of gratitude for helping them to get this far.

The talented Hogan Cup finalist fisted over a dramatic winning point in the Connacht final – on the occasion of his 18th birthday.

But just days later his world was turned upside down when he was diagnosed with meningitis.
