Courier faces Ned death rap

A COURIER arrested at Dublin Airport as he disembarked from a flight from Poland appeared in court yesterday over a fatal hit-and-run that killed an elderly cyclist.
Piotr Broniarczyk, 42, with an address in Poland, appeared before Judge Eirinn McKiernan at Trim District Court.
He is charged with three hit-and-run offences: Failing to remain at the scene; failing to report an incident and failing to give assistance to Edward (Ned) McLoughlin on Friday, September 12 at Batterstown, Ballivor, Co Meath.
COLLISION
Last Friday, gardai and emergency services were notified of a collision involving a vehicle and a cyclist on the R156 road at Batterstown, Ballivor.
