One decision late on, when Ryan O'Donoghue attempted to score a two-pointer, ended with the score being reduced to one point, as the officials declared that Connor Gleeson had got a finger to it.

In my eyes, he didn't. It should have been two points rather than one which would have put Mayo ahead.

Those are the fine margins that games turn on.

Nonetheless I am not making excuses because I felt Neilan made decisions that affected both teams. Galway deserved it because they took advantage of the small margins to go on and win. Yes, it was a soft penalty that Johnny McGrath received in the first half.
