Accused shouted: 'This man ate my son'

AN 88-YEAR-OLD hospital patient died of a cardiac arrest in his hospital bed following a “sustained and violent attack” during which he also suffered fractures, lacerations and bruising, a murder trial has heard.

Dylan Magee, 33, went on trial yesterday at the Central Criminal Court, sitting in Cork. He pleaded not guilty to the murder of Matthew Healy but guilty to manslaughter by reason of diminished responsibility.
