AS THE LATEST SERIES BEGINS, YOLANTHE FAWEHINMI MEETS THE NEW BATCH OF CONTESTANTS ATTEMPTING TO RACE ACROSS THE WORLD
-
Starting at The Great Wall of China, the fifth season of the BAFTA award-winning BBC programme will see the contestants brave an epic 8,700-mile journey to reach the finish line at Kanniyakumari, the southernmost tip of India.
The pairs will be pushed to their limits, travelling vast distances without phones, bank cards and flights, forgoing all travel comforts and luxuries.
Instead, they must use the cash given - equating to the cost of flying the route and find an alternative way to reach the destination first, to win the cash prize of £20,000.
"I signed up for this mostly for the challenge," says Letitia, 26. "I just wanted to push myself to finish something, to accomplish something big.
"I think on this race, it's a good opportunity to grow as a person. I always strive to push myself to grow and see where my strengths lie or just to know myself.
