LEGENDARY former manager Neil Warnock says Sergej Jakirovic is the Championship's Manager of the Season so far, and shouldn't be too down after Friday's defeat to Middlesbrough.

City were thrashed 4-1 by Boro in front of the Sky Sports cameras, and passed up the chance to move third, albeit for 24 hours.

Despite that loss, their fourth in six games, Warnock has been impressed with the job the Croatian has done since inheriting a club that struggled against relegation last term, and was then hit with transfer restrictions during the summer, with attention now turning to tomorrow's MKM Stadium meeting with Wrexham.
