MATTY Storton is determined to make the Wakefield Trinity right-edge back row spot his own next season and is backing one teammate to help ensure his grip on it: Mason Lino.

Returning to the fold last summer after a knee injury kept him out for four months, Storton impressed in Trinity's run to the top six.

Handed the number 12 shirt for 2026 after Josh Griffin's exit to York, the 26-year-old is getting the reps in alongside Lino in preseason, who he believes is one of the best halves in Super League.

And it's that partnership he’s backing to take his game to the next level.

Speaking to All Out Rugby League, Storton said: "I played against Mason a couple of times before I signed and he's a great player. He's really underrated.
