IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE NEW FOR START OF TERM

In fashion, September is our January, our new year, a fresh start.

Historically the September issue of Vogue magazine is the thickest, jam-packed with all the new-season trend information.

For those of you who remember the days before the internet, September was the first time we got to see the catwalk imagery for autumn/winter and it was delicious. I used to devour each page.

Now that the trends are available to us the second they hit the runways back in February, the new season doesn't feel like such a milestone.

I am always hopeful that fast fashion brands will use September as an opportunity for a major reset, releasing statements about their reduction in waste or improvements to their fabrics - using less plastics for a start.
