Get a cultural fix at Social on Humber Street

Opened in 2010 as Fruit, and reborn in 2020 as Social it has become a destination venue in the city for those wanting their cultural fix.

As part of Hull’s thriving and independent Fruit Market area, Social are presenting some of the best of live events coming up throughout the summer.

Following on from their sellout UK and Ireland 2023 - 2024 tours, nine-piece ska band PorkPie hit the road again in 2025 with their “Truth or Dare” Tour and will be at Social, Hull on Friday night.

Performing original material from their forthcoming second album, due for release along with the iconic Ska classics from The Specials, Madness, The Beat, Bad Manners, UB40 and many more.

This is a night not to be missed if you were into music in the late 1970s and early 1980s. The chances are you were into 2-Tone, the iconic Coven-try-based label that was home to ska revivalists like The Beat, The Selecter, Madness and The Specials.

PorkPie are the real deal, from the classic “big” ska band mould, with a full brass section, keys, guitars and porkpie hats to match and they play with an intensity and energy that will have you skanking into the night!

For all ticket information, visit the Social, Hull website.

ON Saturday night the Howden Shire Hall on Market Place in Howden welcomes the return of one of the top bands to have appeared on the Shire Hall stage.
